Characters and their dads

Harlock In a gaiden series his dad is known as The Great Harlock and was a notorious pirate in his own right, and murdered by Odin (Harlock Saga is just the Ring Cycle in space with Harlock as Siegfried). Given the rare hints we get in other series, Harlock's own father in non-Wagnerian versions

was likely not an upstanding citizen but did much to try to be a good parent, so I headcanon he was basically a cargo ship captain who did some smuggling on the side, did some question parent stuff like dragging his kid with him on his smuggling trips when he couldn't find a sitter.

Sherlock Holmes again not much known, and I don't buy into the fandom idea that his dad was abusive, but that they did didn't get along well, with his father being a far more typical stuffy English Gentleman and Sherlock the little weirdo that we all know and love(?), probably had a name like Edmund Thomas, died while he was in college.
