Ooh so basically it's using what we use now, but it's more advanced. Also you can make a ".git" file that has it all set for you.

What I have read is that PBR is used a lot on the gaming industry and by all the tools, so it seems it will be way easier to make shiny stuff for SL without a lot of steps inbetween.

I do not know the tools like Substance Painter, but maybe a direct import is possible then? You have to figure out yourself.
