[dogs] Is there some kind of documented phenomenon where rescue dogs barely shed for the first year you have them, so you can be like, "wow, this dog sheds so little!" and then in all subsequent years they turn into hair monsters

I do actually wonder if it has something to do with her getting better quality food actually but. yeah I distinctly remember getting shelby and being amazed for the first few seasons how she barely shed at all
