there's nothing like paying $5 for a loaf of bread at the depanneur and remembering when I was 13 doing an errand for my mom and agonizing on if spending $2.50 on a loaf of bread is too much and if mom would be mad if I bought it

and at the time 2.50 was for the more higher quality stuff

it's fun knowing that in a better world I could probably afford a lot of food for $200 instead of it barely lasting me 2 weeks
