Good luck. I'm on my 5th (and final) year using Alendronate (Fosamax). I'll get my final scan in December; though regardless of the results, 5 years is the maximum recommended time to take the once-per-week tablets.

mimi : Not noticeably. Last scan 3 years ago was about the same as the first one. I delayed starting meds for ~ a year. But I'll be stopping after my annual comprehensive checkup, including scan, in December. I've never felt that I needed it, and the possible side-effects have always been a concern to me.
