[rl/tdl (but like a long-term one)/accountability] ok so i am currently still feeling So Overwhelmed by rl things, so this is an attempt to get together the things i can actually do something about.
MEDICAL - take a USB stick up to the hospital and demand my X-rays - refill prescriptions in the next 2-3 weeks - draft up a complaint letter because I really need that out sooner rather than later - (eventually) call the doctor about bone density scans - (physio)
WORK - email my union rep first thing on Monday since HR didn't copy her into the last update - push the podcast again over the next couple of weeks it is Not Doing Numbers
HOUSEHOLD - Review my freehold terms just in case the factors keep being assholes - Check lockup keys to see whether the cupboard downstairs actually is mine - (longer-term) Call SSE about refunding the huge credit they're holding on my account + getting put onto a single meter - (longer-term) Check planning permission for replacement windows
OTHER STUFF - take an hour or two to read through the union election papers and vote - book holiday/weaving residential - plan for trip down south (if that's happening) and let Mum and Dad know what my plans are
the rest of the medical stuff and all the work stuff, I obviously can't really touch until it's not the weekend anyway. But I do need to get those BMD scans, because the more I talk about the kind of break I had, the more people who know their shit are like "no that is NOT NORMAL FOR SOMEONE YOUR AGE"
(this also makes getting the X-rays more important, because it would let me check up on the actual break angle and dynamics and confirm that it really is as weird a break as it looked in consult)
(because it was like... at a REALLY sharp angle, so I no longer think it was likely to be a fulcrum/impact break, considering I definitely didn't fall on the TOP of my shoulder. which suggests it was a break from catching myself on my elbow/hand, which really shouldn't cause a full-on fracture in anyone under, like... 60 or 70 at the youngest?)
GOOD THINGS THAT ARE GOING WELL BECAUSE I NEED TO REMIND MYSELF OF THOSE TOO - went to a political seminar yesterday and a. it was very interesting but also b. i met people and did a sociable - financially, not doing terribly, especially with the cost-of-living raise, I'm still in the black and I can afford a few nice things
- been productive today. did laundry! changed the bedding! went shopping! progressed on my knitting! these are all good things! - I have the car back, and it seems to be driving OK, and while I did stain the passenger seat with bleach, the mould seems to have been successfully ousted. - I have a nearly full range of motion back in my arm (besides backwards)
but I can reach across my body at, if not a 90-degree angle, at least like a 70-degree one, and I can bear weight over my head, and my physio exercises have become pretty easy to manage. this is pretty damn good for two and a half months tbh.
anyway another thing i should do is try to claw back something resembling a human circadian rhythm, so... i guess i should be responsible and go to bed
right now i have two pages of background context on my complaints and i am still only at "and then i was discharged after the surgery", we haven't even touched on the clusterfuck that was my follow-up appointment
I'm aiming to go up to the hospital in my lunch break for X-ray-demanding purposes, and hopefully I will also be able to refill my prescription and ask for a BMD consult at the same time.
also get an appointment to get a coil put in maybe, bc clearly the pills are not doing their job of "not making my body claw itself apart on a monthly basis" any more
DOCTOR THINGS ACCOMPLISHED (sort of) - took a usb stick to the hospital, got a lot of ums and ahs and then fobbed off with the number/contact for ANOTHER office - registered to get a coil put in - just got off the phone with the doctor now re: bones, unfortunately she didn't seem all that confident about getting scans and has advised me to nag the ortho
forgot to refill my prescriptions while i was up at the hospital, but, hey, remembering 3/4 things isn't bad! and i have a repeat so I just need to call them any time.

for example, buying video games and playing them for a truly obscene amount of time over the past week- I have the car back, and it seems to be driving OK, and while I did stain the passenger seat with bleach, the mould seems to have been successfully ousted.
