Sometimes it will dip farther south than the map guesses, but I doubt it will get Alabama south

We have seen it as far south as Portland Oregon. Some local photographers caught captures in the gorge.

I'll be staying on the southern shore of Lake Superior on Wednesday night. I'm praying for no-rain

and lots of solar flares, so if your internet or phone service goes out, you may blame me

Thanks Gingo! Pretty cloudy here now, but I will look back out in an hour or two. I have seen a few spectacular displays in my life, but with my home in a dense forest of 150 year old white pines, I can only look straight up from my deck....but northern views are not that far away.
