say that you're a massive company that suddenly had a new product accidentally release early, with some folk getting their hands on it and showing it off before its intended release

do you

1: roll with it in good humor

or 2:

call the pinkertons on them

I mean honestly, probably something like sent a letter

not the goddamn pinkertons

yeah honestly I don't want to encourage Acting Like Nintendo here, but this is a circumstance where you Act Like Nintendo

send a letter going "hey yo we need you to take that video down it's really not great for us and we'll work with you here"

but still not the god damned pinkertons

you especially don't call the goddamn pinkertons in an era where unionization is on the rise if you want to

if i was in charge of WOTC and a youtuber with under 5k subscribers was doing a unboxing video about a cardset that should've come out in two weeks

I simply wouldn't care

also only like
two weeks ahead of the release

it was so stupid LOL

also perhaps more damningly

if i was in charge of wotc I would not simply name my side set to an expansion the same as the expansion but with an extra word in 4 point font

that way people in warehouses don't go "oh it's march of the machines it says so right there"

it was so wildly unnecessary!!!!
