I'm thinking about the cost of doing business - you know, those costs that a company absolutely has to factor into their bottom line.

That's what I think about the Dominion/Fox settlement - it is the cost of doing business. Going forward Fox will be more careful, point more things to lawyers, and probably institute draconian standards for inter-company communications and anything else "discoverable."

I fully expect that their marquee players will continue to do what they do with an audience that doesn't seem to realize the contempt in which they are held or how much they pay for their gullibility.

It is not Dominion's job to school Fox or to satisfy the bloodlust that was rising for many in anticipation of this trial. They have received satisfaction and our justice system still works.

It is not their fault that so many Americans cannot (and do not care to) tell the difference between actual news and the opinions of the talking heads who are on record that ratings are their only concern - not honesty or accuracy.

That's our cross to bear.

Huge win for Fox. Huge win for Dominion. Huge loss for our democracy that the Big Lie was not put under oath, the only place left in this country where lies have consequences.

It may not be Dominon’s job or Fox News’ job to save our democracy, and arguably our nation, from the Big Lie and related lies that poison our body politic to this day, potentially leading to an end to our very nation. But I hope to God it is SOMEBODY’S job. Do you have any words of encouragement as to who it might be that does save our democracy now?

The Dominion case was a golden opportunity to put the Big Lie under oath, and that opportunity was lost because everyone involved said, “It’s not my job.” That’s not exactly positive news.

我還真沒有從這個角度來想過，就是覺得settlement 讓人很不滿意，但又說不出來到底哪裡不滿意。

所以我現在對川粉都很不客氣了，這是我最直接的作法

中西部可憐蟲 : 我這個朋友的臉友之中，有幾個超級大川粉，而且會留超長的回覆，常常下面吵成一團。我剛才看了一下，那幾個最激進的川粉都還沒被封鎖。我朋友真的很有耐心，都會一直解說，我還蠻佩服他的。

我好奇川粉怎麼看這個和解，他們會覺得 Fox 被陷害嗎

我一直在等那個人留言，我還沒看到。不過現實就是，現在川普民調還是最高，比DeSantis還高很多，完全沒有因為這個事件而被影響到，我覺得Fox News應該又有很大的空間可以運作。

LOL 喵同學 : Q先生 : 其實不就是我之前說的嗎? 沒有能進入審判公諸於世讓那些人在法庭上都必須承認自己明知道是謊言還報導很可惜. 且我不覺得真的是big win for Dominion. 很多新聞說因為一開始的求償金額就過大. 現在的錢已經是公司價值的十倍. 但光Jones一個槍擊案就有可觀的punitive damages. Fox這個是影響全美國人的東西我覺得應該不小. 加上這金額根本是Fox手裡現金的1/4. 以他的財力根本不算痛
