Upper One has the red mark in his forehead and neck while Yoriichi only has one in his forehead so it can't be the same person plus it's in-born.
And Muzan would rather kill the person who gave him fear and despair than turn him into a demon (which is a bad idea since the converted still has free will).
hmm...good point there. i was kinda thinking that muzan might have been able to convince him to join his side, but yeah, if gave him that much trouble, he probably would rather kill him than keep him close that much power.
Yoriichi is the founder of the Breathing Styles, which is the only means for humans to combat the demons. I imagine he's very motivated in defeating demons esp. the illusion Daki saw, he sounds really pissed at them. xD
Upper One could be a relative to Yoriichi with reasons for joining Muzan is unknown so far.

It's the Demon Slayer that defeated and traumatized Muzan, so much that his cells inside Daki reacted to Tanjiro giving out similar aura.
The Upper One Demon might be related to Yoriichi to some capacity.
