[RL/family death] Sorry to put this back-to-back with the comic post but I also am probably going to be in a bad way for... I dunno

I found out yesterday that my maternal grandfather, who has been in poor/worsening health for quite some time, is more than likely dying

He's suffering from Kidney failure and they're trying dialysis but he's almost entirely incoherent and not getting much better

and I just got to talk to him for what is probably the last time and just burst into tears

He didn't seem to understand much but, despite our ups and downs, I was glad I got to say goodbye and that I loved him

talked to my mom. They're going to try to call again if he gets more coherent, but the dialysis does not seem to be helping and he does not enjoy it. They're going to try for a few more days but he is very frustrated and uncomfortable so they are going to let things go their own way after that.

We got to have a video call this morning because he's eaten and feeling much better. We got to talk for a minute, check in on each other, joke a little. It makes me feel better about things that we got to actually talk.

So, we got some good news- My papa is doing way better all of the sudden and even gets to go home Sunday if there's not an unexpected downturn
