[rvb] Felix and Locus.

Sometimes I just have these random little thoughts like:

I 100% believe that Locus is the entire reason that Felix has a shield and not some other enhancement.

Like, he insisted without explaining. Just

Locus: You get the shield.
Felix: But I want-
Locus: You get the shield.
Locus: You can have a Sticky Detonator if you want something for fun.

Felix: /stares at Locus for five minutes straight.
Felix: Fine. Give me the-
Locus: It's already installed. You're good to go.

Felix: /stares at Locus a little longer before turning and leaving
Locus: Don't forget to grab a Sticky Detonator on your way out for your 'fun'.
Felix: /gives Locus the bird as he exits.

On a more serious note, yes, I can absolutely see it as Locus's idea to give Felix the shield whether he liked it or not. Not only did the two enhancements as they were chosen for their sides work for their job, but the thought that Felix would better benefit from having a defensive item that he could deploy without much effort into its effectiveness...

...would absolutely occur and spur Locus into giving it to Felix - who is far away from him on a daily basis during this mission and whom he cannot protect.

So he forces the shield enhancement on his partner so that Felix can be safe even when he's not there to protect him, when he can't protect him.

Felix probably came up with the idea to use the shield against Locus in the ploy of "have great reflexes to save someone from a sniper's shot" though and insisted when Locus balked at first. Because it would be cool. And work in his favor. But Locus wouldn't want to accidentally shoot him if Felix missed his mark. Eventually he agreed because it had

benefits and Felix convinced him that he would be on the mark every time they employed it.

(On the other hand, Locus probably secretly enjoyed shooting at Felix especially after he became more distant and annoying.)

I have lots of feels about these two, uwu. Too many.
