Hey, y'all. Still pretty sick. Looking for recs to keep me busy while I recover. No one who does anything current HP please, reaction channels and Let's Play channels who don't scream appreciated. Specific games, shows, wtfever, it's all good.
Basically no loud bigots, anything else goes save for super flashy stuff. I'm sleeping more than anything else, so I need stuff to watch when I'm laying down.
TLDR, after two ER trips and four urgent care visits I finally got diagnosed with something, so I'm on the road to recovery. It's unfortunately a fucking boring road.
and ummmm i have a game you might be interested in watching? it's cute quirky n fun and i found a longplay of it :> its called moon, i've talked about it a bit.
神っぽいな。
I need to check it out, thank you. It sounded really cute from what you said. I also forgot about it entirely in the brain fog cloud I'm in so thank you for the reminder.
I am doing so much better since getting on pain meds/antibiotics, but I'm still sleeping most of the day and resting the rest of it. So I get bored fast.
I hope you feel better! I’d suggest Let’s game it out, he breaks games and he’s funny as hell without being offensive. He has a sim series where his sim just inexplicably starts stealing all the pets in town and I was howling, he breaks games quite a bit and is usually pretty funny. Eddy Burback is also a fave, not loud at all and a good dude.
My pain meds are kicking in so I probably won't be here in a minute or two but more recs will totally be welcome if anyone has any. Thank you for your patience too, y'all. Brain fog+sick means tags on delay again sob
/sends you snuggles and loves and hopes you're sleeping and healing well. It's horror, but I like Gab Smolders (Girl Gamer Gab)'s Let's Play of the Fatal Frame series. I don't remember any overt screaming.
I don't know of any gaming channels, but I do know that Overly Sarcastic Productions has some videos where they play things. I am not sure if they scream or anything in those videos, but in the rest of their videos (history, literature, mythology, vines) they are pretty chill. Even when they do raise their voices because of reasonable inflection
my go-tos are Safiya Nygaard, Royalty Soaps, Rachel & Jun and Jun's Cooking, Ann Reardon, and then a whole bunch of asmr cooking and restoration channels I can pull up if you like that sort of thing
some of the restoration might be a bit loud but I think the loudest thing in the cooking channels is pouring rattly things like chocolate chips into a glass bowl - they severely turn down the volume on hand mixers so it's a soothing tone instead of loud machine noises
Ann Reardon is great, she debunks 5-minute crafts type cooking 'hacks' and does historical cooking stuff (she's got a degree in food science, so she can explain why the thing won't work the way 5MC says it will and etc.)
she also does cake fail saves, things like 5 easy desserts using cheap strawberry ice cream, and then amazing fancy cakes like gravity-defying watering can cakes
As someone else who has been where you are, yeah: your job is to heal and you need to take that time to do so properly, without rushing it. It's like gluing wood back together. You gotta let that glue set properly, or those wood pieces will break on you ... again ... Not like I know this from experience either
Yeah, it's been really hard to hold myself to just resting now that I have kind of a choice in it? I'm not well, but the temptation to get back to things before I'm ready is very present.
Thank you all for being patient. I'm doing a lot better, still sleeping a lot, here in my state RSV keeps making it's rounds and it nearly killed my nephew. A lot of us have ended up ill long term, it's scary shit. Stay safe, y'all.

Seconding Let's Game It Out!
Not like I know this from experience either/sending you love and healing vibes anyways
