I disapprove of lying, but approve of Cassie. Moral conflict, lol. Heading out, so totally not pointing out that I have journals for both Elfangor and a certain seer....
the fact that the mac/windows license didn't transfer was annoying tho... it's rly mac software first but they finally upped windows to 3 which is EXTREMELY nice
so looking at this, it's not actually on sale but on sale from a third party site? that has some not great reviews when you look it up. you may not save money in the long run buying it this way, it seems.
saw some reports that this place, stacksocial, will sell a product and the code won't work, stuff like that. i got excited to buy scrivener but after looking into it a little i am not sure this is actually a sale.
i saw reports that people were buying "lifetime subscriptions" to things and then in 2 or 5 years, stacksocial would stop the product and say it was time to renew - and refuse to honor having sold it as a lifetime subscription.
If people can wait, usually the best time to get a good deal on Scriv is after Nanowrimo.... when all the people who broke 50K got their deal as part of their winner goodies that already have scriv.
scrivener isn't subscription-based; you buy it once and you can use it for as long as you want, including on new devices. you only ever have to pay more if you want to upgrade to an entirely new version (like if/when they make version 4) or different platform (pc vs mac etc as stated above)
i understand that! however, it felt important to chime in with what i had found, and personally i would not trust a website like that to not have some weird loophole to mess you up in a few years, where you have to go through them and not scrivener directly to try resolving it. and i'm glad i said something bc it's nice to know scrivener does it's own sales!
Fair! I had to first buy, then open up an email to redeem the code, then wait for another email that actually has the code, then go redeem it on Screivener's site!
scrivener usually has a sale on their own site once or twice a year
