Nightmares are...familiar to him though. And as suggested he's used to comforting people coming out of them despite his shitty personality. If only he ever used his charm for good sometimes.... we'd get this to a genuine space maybe. Alas.
Also a pallet cleanser for the previous tag. And I have more Steve tags to reply to but omg what time is it what happened. Anyway, I will tag the rest tomorrow.
I wonder if this will get to be an impossible save or if the mods will take pity on everyone trying so very hard to come up with an impossible solution.
Oh... I meant how Aleks tried to murder Newt about 6 months ago. On the station. But yeah, let's go with him only being concerned about his people back home
No one knows about it, except of course Viv and Degar who shackled him with something that would turn his powers on himself if used against a team mate.
But long story short, it was right after the train mission? After Newt tried to murder everyone to get the orb and for giggles. When they got back to the station, Darkling tried to smother Newt while Newt was sleeping / was drugged
Oops, mobile plurk hid some of your earlier replies from me! I see, I see. I thought it might have had something to do with the train incident. I was around but did not directly particiate.
But yeah, Newt forgave him. Or, at least he doesn't overtly hate him? cares is a big word for what Aleksander / Darkling feels about Alina. He doesn't even know himself what it is. It's not... romance? It's obsession. It's stalking her, isolating her to make him seem like her only choice and then seduce her.
Yeah. Newt does that. Especially for it involving reasons of him hurting ppl. Aleksander... you are a complicated man. Logically I know he's Bad. But also illogically I just...feel sorry for him. I love him.
The books.. oh dear. I will try to read them one day. I bought them, I better read them! Lol. I'm looking forward to the Crows at least when I get to their story.
His device has been placed in his neural implants so it is not visible and works similar to a RvB/Halo armor lock. I can't wait to play with it one day. He's kinda forgetting it's there as time goes by...
The Crows (tbh Inej owns my heart hard!) are lovely, even in the books. And the later ones, with Nikolai's story (King of Scars and Rule of Wolves) are not bad (Alina gets the poor end of the stick, tho)
So in Felix's app I pointed out he's quite volatile and has no qualms hurting other people if he feels like it. He doesn't care about his employees/teammates (except his partner) and willingly throws their lives away towards the end of canon.
I've taken him from the end, too, which is right after he essentially had a mental breakdown and attempted to kill all the main protagonists but his partner heel-turned and in his anger Felix added his partner to the kill list... and died for not listening/giving up.
Re: the S&B books vs show. Oh, yeah! I liked Alina and Mal well enough in the show! But I'm hearing bad things about the book versions aha. And honestly I'm just here for the Darkling in the end... so gonna end in sadness for me I already know.
But I did enjoy most of the main characters in the show which was a pleasant surprise. I'm fearing I'll hate them come season 2 cause I know where my heart lies lol
I guess so? Maybe they were worried because they had someone (Aleksander) try to kill someone already so they (Viv and Degar) took precautions with Felix.
He's trying to "lay low" and be cooperative so he doesn't get kicked off the station before they finish gathering the orbs (he knows he's dead if he doesn't get his regret fixed) but he's kinda failing epically at not being an asshole lol. Everyone is sus of him. ;;
I went to check and yes. I like the mod's wording: As he is a volatile, easily angered antagonist and a sociopath, we feel that should he be brought to be a member of the team, Viveca and Degar would take preventative measures to make sure he is not a threat to the team.
On another note, this stay or go network post is getting me thinking about how Felix feels about this whole thing. He's over here saying he wants to leave, but all these arguments for helping out are...compelling.
He was trying to convince Locus that it was ok, it was their right, and they had a mission to complete. It...worked in the moment but it was definitely one of the lines Felix crossed that later came back to bite him in the ass. As it clearly had an effect on Locus in the long run.
His line before (or after whichever) was that they didn't deserve to survive because they trusted someone they shouldn't have. Felix... has so many gd issues it's ridiculous, ya'll.
Anyway, what I was getting at I think lol was that Felix hates the fact that it would be very easy to call him out for being hypocritical right now. Especially in light of his reply to Ziggy.
He doesn't really get how to be nice these days... he lost sight of that years ago. But he likes the kid and her plight is his own so he had to make an effort to talk to her.
But if someone challenged him over at Ziggy's thread he might... get lost in his own argument and not be able to backpedal without fucking up. And maybe he'd have to reluctantly agree....
Felix does not know how to deal with this. He's just over here like "gdit now I have to deescalate this shit and that's not even what I was trying to say!"
apologizesmooth things over.Let's see those reflexes, nerd!

I love Felix, he's that dumb word for me... my lil blorbo? Ugh, but it's accurate lol. Such a dick but a fun one.
