LiberBEARian
Some I've read, some I want to read and haven't yet, some I've never heard of but now want to
LiberBEARian
Either way, it gives me an a good reading list??

Oh fuck off whoever put "The House in the Cerulean Sea" on there. :| I looked them up, the NLTE stands for "No Left Turn in Education". Guess what they're about.

House in the Cerulean Sea is such a sweet book.

losing my mind at 'A Court of Mist and Fury' which is the second or third book in a terrible YA series and is probably on that list because half the scenes are the MC getting head from her love interest of the moment. like, sure. I get THAT not being available to children.
ᴠɪʟʟᴀɪɴᴅᴏ
but so many of these it's clearly 100% bigotry

Thank god the Life of Rosa Parks is on here. Wouldn't want kids reading about history in school
LiberBEARian
Literally just a book on Joe Biden is up here.

The M4L is 'moms for liberty', another stupid group of hand-wringing assholes
Ptriciadactyl
sometimes censored book lists do make good book rec lists
i love you 3000
> me not knowing what house in the cerulean sea is
> "themes of belonging and family, as well as asking questions of nature and nurture, and the inclusion and acceptance of others"

It features gay characters in a positive light. That's pretty much it. And it's such a sweet book
Jay
it's so good
Nox
Well that definitely explains why Florida hates it
BruberryMuffin
i love you 3000 : I don't know that specific book, but I know the author?

Hornless gay unicorns in another series.
StarryOblivion
Every time I see lists like these, I'm so thankful that they give me a good idea of what to have my future children read during summers and holidays off. Maybe then they won't hate reading thanks to the absolutely dry shit written by old straight white men that school forces them to read.
LiberBEARian
I would way rather have my kids read this than anything by Thomas Hardy. hated his shit in high school
Jay
god, I'm with you on that
