I think I get why EarthSpark Megatron works for me and MTMTE Megs doesn’t

It’s the lack of what we call the Megatron Dick Vortex

Dot has reasons to be so positive about Megs; she showed compassion and he returned it. It’s not like when Rodimus faced the audience and said “if you still think Megs is bad you don’t see shades of grey”

They also don’t pile on atrocity after atrocity like millions of dead organics and expect you to go “well as long as he’s repentant”

There’s no character like Getaway whose made cartoonishly evil to represent anyone who has an actual problem with Megatron

I think it helps a lot that we started with Good Megatron already being the status quo, so we haven't watched him demonstrate how eeevil he is for years
