so I'm looking for new ways to engage with folks and MAYBE make a little passive income

so i'm either going to create a newsletter (which would be free) or a Patreon/Kofi subscription (which would include exclusive art, polls, and creative direction stuff)

Seconding KoFi - it's really a nice model and I find the website and notifs very....clean, if that makes sense?

I'm personally leaning toward kofi because I already do my commissions through there

Wayward Haze : Honestly I like it! It's pretty tidy. I wish there were an easier way for people to add notes to an order, but the actual setting up was pretty easy.

THAT SAID all I sell there are stickers, so I was able to duplicate a generic sticker listing so the shipping was copied. So easy for me, but if you have a lot of complex shipping, trickier.

Luckily I don't send out any physical items! or at least not yet. I thought about offering bookplates

Yeah, it's GREAT for digital stuff! I've been thinking of trying my hand at some digital stuff myself (Procreate brushes)

But setting up shipping is only a little bit of a pain - mostly it's that there aren't like.......calculators onboard or shipping profiles to save to, so you have to manually sort it out

My stickers are all sent via regular ol' stamps so it's easy to calculate postage to different countries

If you don't have too many physical items though it's really not bad, and it doesn't take as many bites out of what you get as Etsy does, storefront-wise

I suggest not doing the free newsletter

At least with the others there's a chance for regular pay
