That's what my old job use to like to do. We need someone to come in over the weekend. We're not paying extra, but if you work Saturday you can have Wednesday off instead.
So manger was running late, brought us ice coffees as a sorry. Me and the other girl who is here saw how little work we actually need to get done and both agreed to gossip to waste time and get more pay
One of the things we gossiped about was how we always stay late because they like to shove things at us at the last minute so we felt we deserve that 30 minutes of "bonding" time

And I can't 100% tell if they were being genuine and thinking they were helping or they just suddenly regretted the double pay offer but hahaha haha give me my money
As I politely reminded them it was supposed to be double pay that I just worked for. Yes, yes yes, they say as they finish double checking I don't want extra time off
