My dad just called. he was really struggling couldn't remember my step mom then he did but they were at her house but his things were there why were his things there then it was identical houses just slightly off from each other. he sounded like a small child it was so upsetting. my stepmom was so upset too.

What scares me the most about my parents aging is that one of them will have dementia. My nona had it and it didn’t seem real as a kid until she said she didn’t remember how to eat.

I'm sorry. My grandpa had dementia and I believe my dad is early stages already. For grandpa, he was very upset for one phase. Then he regressed more and was calm and content all the time. It was hard on all of us to see it, but for him it did get less distressing and that was a relief. Big hugs.
