Making this generally replurkable (well, all my stuff is) because I've seen this complaint a lot since Typio has died. What do you use to save your tags if your browser dies or you accidentally close a tag?

BruberryMuffin
Me, I do something weird. I use an extension called GhostText and the program Sublime Text. GhostText sends a form response to an external editor. Sublime Text will save all open tabs whether you reboot, close the program, close the tab, etc.

BruberryMuffin
If you close the tab, it does lose the connection between Sublime Text and your browser and if you try to reconnect, it will 'erase' the tag in progress. But a Ctrl-Z (aka, Undo) has always returned the text.

It also has a feature called 'snippets' that can perform the same function as DW Tools in that you can add in text message and bracket codes.

thanks!

But if other people have options, by all means, share. I've seen the Typio thing repeatedly.

I installed Form History Control II
Form History Control (II)

which seems to work so far?

Un(t)sundered
Yeah, I'm also using form history control

I haven't tried it recently... hmm

Chrome usually does it automatically now at least on dw, but sometimes not.

my backup plan is always copying my really long tags before I hit send

TeaMergency
An autosaving composer like gdoc since I don't trust form savers to keep things, especially on mobile... It does mean I'm writing in a different window though ;;

BruberryMuffin

: That's why I like GhostText. Because it links with the form, which means that I don't need to copy and paste the tag.

I've been using Formalizr on Chrome. Form History Control is pretty nice too though.

Bah Humbug
Generally speaking nothing. It very rarely happens to me and usually if I restore my tab or hit the back button quickly enough it retains all the entered info.
