like i'm sure they are paying some vendor a lot of money to administrate the 2fa text/call system but i'm also sure he's somehow confused this for being scammed somehow

When you’re that rich you feel scammed if you have to pay for anything

I'm certain he's just using "scammed" as a kind of buzz word to justify cutting 2fa

he went "we're paying how much? to who? for what????" and came up with an excuse to decide they shouldn't pay for that anymore

the poors aren't important enough for security of course

App-based 2fa is better, but text-based is much less effort to set up for most people, so, yeah, stupid move.

He just made securing your account harder to do, essentially.

And many people won't go to that extra effort.
