i watched inu-oh because of marchon yesterday so i'm going to put my thoughts here. there are spoilers for the ending of the movie
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
man. man. i didn't know what to expect going into this movie. i'd heard about it a while back and thouhgt it was a series about yokai?
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
then i realized it was a movie because march was talking about it, and so i looked it up
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
didn't spoil myself on anything, just saw that it was a rock opera set in the past and was like. oh okay
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
it was a wild, intense ride. and i enjoyed it for the most part. i think my favorite part was the performance at the shogun's pa... lace?
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
i loved the glam rock Tomona a whole lot
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
i didn't really like the ending. like it left me wholly unsatisfied. i figured it would be a tragedy just because it seemed like it was going so hard, and then there were the curses and stuff
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
but what really made me sad was that Tomona's blindness was not restored, while Inu-oh got a human body back
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
and yes Tomona was still very capable as a blind man, but the kicker was that he suffered. he was brutally killed and inu-oh got to live
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
i'm sure inu oh lived a very lonely life, only performing scripted stories for the shogun, so i guess he did suffer too?
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
idk. their souls found each other again in the end, so that was nice
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
but i went away feeling sad, like things were unresolved
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
and i guess that's how it's supposed to be
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
made me have a lot of feelings
ð“ŧð“ļ𝓞ð“Ū-ð“―ð“ēð“·ð“―ð“Ū𝓭
SO FRUSTRATING... yes, though I did enjoy it
