so this week, presumably on account of a different game i don't acknowledge, both magical diary games are on sale! five for the first, nine for the second, eleven if you buy both now lemme give out the sales pitch

it is a stat-raising visual novel in which you play a student at a magical school and learn about magicks and you can start up some romances that run the gamut from "have a nice normal relationship with a regular magical classmate" to "we wrote this boy real problematic on purpose we know what you messy binches are about"

the exams take the form of little mini dungeon adventures in which you can use various spells you learn to solve dungeons in a variety of ways

you can start up a basketball team in the second one

theres a lot of replay value

you can customize your protagonist and there is a dressup element

it takes place in vermont, it acknowledges alternative gender identities

it is also a very bisexual game

first one has a female protagonist from a non magical family who is learning all about the world, second one has a male protagonist from a prominent magical family overseas who wants to have a Normal School Life experience for just one dang year, you learn different world building tidbits from them

It's gloriously bisexual
