but also i do not know how long battles usually last for

someone needs to use an iron as a weapon now

I know 'an iron as a bludgeon' but I'm picturing someone swinging it by the cord like it's a meteor hammer

And I have a character who swings a baby-weight around for an hour a day or so.

dragon time : I think it probably depends on the battle. Like, sometimes it's a big melee where you've gotta keep going for a while, other times it's 'fuck fuck fuck fuck- okay now I'm stabbed'.

A sword probably feels pretty light when you first draw it

like anything you're carrying for a while

And how long you can swing also it depends on how you're kitted out, a knight in full plate is retaining heat due to padding and the weight, while your foot soldier while armored isn't nearly as heavily

(Knights are by and large heavy cavalry used for breaking lines and or held in reserve to crush and scatter the enemy - engaging in prolonged battled, especially on foot generally means something gone wrong
