I want a Metroid game where Samus loses her power suit

Not so it can be all “oh look Samus is so vulnerable and sexy~”

But so that she can go all John Rambo on some space pirates

Full on “I’m not trapped here with you! You’re trapped here with me!”

Fuck yes.

Oh, no power armor? Good thing she's still got these guns (flexes heavily)

They thought she was dangerous because of her chozo power armor

And to be fair it certainly helps

But she’s still Samus Aran, with or without it

I suppose Zero Mission only lets her go Die Hard on them

It also wasn’t the whole game

Just one little bit

And in this game you don’t stun space pirates and run away to hide

yes, but in the part where you can, you're skulking around air vents and mostly just harassing them until you get a big gun

hence, die hard

You set lethal traps and stalk them from the shadows with a big knife

I’m picturing gameplay sorta like the big tomb raider reboot

but actually yes I do agree with the actual point of this plurk

I’m just thinking of the bit in Tomb Raider where Lara has just gotten the grenade launcher

And she’s marching through a burning building screaming “IM COMING FOR YOU BASTARDS” while the bad guys are panicking and running away

That is the energy I want for Samus in this game

Samus went to a central federation planet to have a medal pinned on her, but she wound up getting pulled into this adventure and her power suit is on the other side of the planet, but she's more than able to handle these criminals and other chumps.

ѕαмѕα I feel like this would be your kind of thing

Then at the end of the game you get your power suit back and get to do the victory lap

men fleeing in terror from lara as she yells I'M COMING FOR YOU ALL while going on a rampage to rescue her gal pal is honestly one ofthe best moments i've ever played in a video game and even tho i've never touched Metroid in my life, i would ABSOLUTELY play a Metroid that lets us do that with Samus

adjacent stupid thought, because tomb raider got one: Metroid Power Wash Simulator expansion when?

(also for the record they announced a free FF7 expansion the day after the tomb raider one came out)
