I know I can (and I have) donate towards the earthquake but I miss being in SL and being able to hold charity events and make a bigger difference.

i have not seen SLers do RL disaster charities as frequently as they have years ago; I guess everyone is poor now

organizing is a thankless job, and when you cash out, you're probably responsible for ALL of the taxes

I totally get this. That earthquake is heartbreaking. I wish I could do something for Iran in SL but I just don't have the energy or knowledge to organize an entire event. It's much easier to just make something.

I also muss doing Wear Gray which was much smaller scale charity event.

i have done a couple of large scale charity events, but it is really a full time job. unfortunately i don't think i have the time to do a good job right now.

It's too bad nobody has figured out a way to make it less hassle for people who are just trying to do good in the world, well both worlds. SL has always impressed me with the way the community comes together for the rough times.
