i was thinking of the same game haha!
it was probably because nick managed to earn a sort of reputation among the guild parties that he's a traitor.

So Nick is known to got kicked out of his former group + his "girlfriend" dumped & scammed him and this Tiger thinks he would go out and betray everybody?

somebody definitely spread the wrong rumor about him being a serial "traitor".
