Every tabletop game I run will ideally have two chief kinds of villains represented

1. Sympathetic antagonists who believe they're doing what is right and may need to be saved as much as they need to be stopped

2.

two very different genres of catharsis

Something I have figured out as I've refined my tastes in villains is

you absolutely need to have, in the same story

the one who gives you a whole emotional arc and the one who you are 1000% justified in blowing to pieces

a Sympathetic antagonist who is too far down the road they've travelled to stop who you can generally understand how they got there

YEAH

AND THE DRACULA

the Dracula (netflix) and the Dracula (bram stoker)

exactly

you need a rich multilayered TEXTURE of villainy
