i’ll ping you after the trip our complete itinerary just in case it’s useful for you, i’ll post pics and stuff here on occasion but i’m not often able to post everything lol
for now we’ll have to travel for 4+ hours by train lol. the first train was already on the platform when we arrived so hopefully the next leg would be smooth sailing too.
okay almost time to check into the hotel, after which we’re going to calton hill and explore the old city. then japanese food for dinner and watching a show since the UK tour for jersey boys is currently running here
york is still my favorite but edinburgh’s really fun so far too. though today we woke up late (bed and room too comfy!) so we’re probably not hiking to arthur’s seat. maybe. we’ll see lol
we’re just taking it slow today, the good thing about living here is that we can choose to come back and not rush ourselves to doing everything at once.

hub by premiere inn at rose street! it’s tiny but really clean and modern, and super close to everything. and they store luggage before/after your check in/out time which i find v good! the only thing they don’t provide are toothbrushes and toothpaste but otherwise i’d recommend! our room is £45/night for 2.
today’s update: we mostly did the water of leith walk which is a walk along a river, with a stop at the royal botanic gardens. pics later when i’m back in the hotel with wifi, but yeah we felt like nature tripping and not doing the regular touristy sightseeing
we’re just resting our feet at st james quarter now which is a mall, then dinner at jollibee bc hubby always wants to go to the bee if we’re in a city with one LOL... then either we have some whisky somewhere or just chill at the hotel lounge with our free coffee/tea
tonight we might go out for some whisky unless we’re too tired to leave the hotel and we’ll just lounge in the resto again with our complimentary tea or coffee
oh gods arthur’s seat is so beautiful, especially if you don’t take the touristy route to the summit where loads of people cram around the summit marker and ruin the view
def recommend hiking up to arthur’s seat! the starting point is only about 20 mins from the city centre (by foot) and there are different routes with varied levels of difficulty. the easiest one should take an hour back and forth. picnics are totally a thing.
hotel for 3 nights - £148.50 or that's £49.50/night then we had breakfast there for 3 days at £5 per person plus drinks on the last night at around £5/person too
it's really the accommodation and transpo that gets you. there's a lot of free things to do f you don't want to spend. there are many options food-wise too, though hubby and i often have one splurge meal, one fastfood meal, and coffee and bread for breakfast LOL
edit: now with pics and itinerary updates!
it's safer in pairs right?0god if my medical bills don't bury me first I'm inI envy ;a;
it looks amazing, but Costly.
