Okay, real question hours, but how do you find new social circles if you struggle interacting with new people

Say, meeting new people makes you so nervous you either can't bring yourself to say anything, or you end up talking too much, with almost no place between

The desire for a social life is there but I appear to be very, very bad at actually integrating into social circles of any kind

lurking in communities until you find someone willing to approach you

or just interacting on posts with likes and such until you feel comfortable enough to maybe toss out a couple words

For IRL things, I find that attending an Activity is easier than just trying to socialize? A class or a club or a service project or something. It gives me something to focus on besides worrying about getting a Good Grade In Talking To People, while still interacting with others.

No but going to things like fan conventions where you know you have at least something in common that you can use as an ice breaker is a good start

I'm tempted to go to one this summer but I don't know if I can afford it.

Classes or hobby shops. If you like tabletop or something, most do open games or something go get more people in.

I go to a lot of live shows and depending on the genre, you end up meeting people and exchanging socials.

I don't think I've got the brainpower for tabletop gaming, at least not rpgs. I think I'm burned out on rp as a whole right now
