My 2022 in retrospect? Maybe less awful than 2021, but not by much, I think

Had an awful start with needing to pack and leave our apartment for nearly two months thanks to flooding

A mix of emotions as I kind of existed and my mood went up and down a lot

My GPU died, so desktop can't handle video games anymore

I started applying for work again. Sporadically, but doing any at all after three years of nothing is something

Sis moved out

Grandpa died

And also I can't afford another six months of therapy. After this period runs out, that's it.

even if I can get an income, it might not be enough to afford that and save some up for myself

So yeah, safe to say I'm kinda scared for the future

Not to mention we're still in a pandemic, political climate is still getting worse, everything's getting more expensive and I've only fairly recently realized I've been dealing with ADHD all my life

Yes, I've been paying for therapy out of pocket because trying to work through the system has been an absolute nightmare, even when I can muster up the willpower to try

I could have several thousand dollars more if I didn't, but I'd also be far more miserable

There's been good points throughout, though. Therapist has been fantastic at helping me get by, been doing a lot of fun RP stuff, D&D game I started running is going strong and the players are having a blast

Got motivated to look into voice acting as a career I might actually enjoy, building my confidence as a DM back up

Doing some wonderful PSL stuff with a few friends

Most of the bad stuff comes up when I look away from my computer and do anything else, with the world offering very little I want to look at, but also being unable to escape it, change it or influence it. So my interest is just in getting by until something I actually care about shows up

political climate technically is getting better, it's just hard to see when politics is such a quagmire of toxicity

I def support your move into voice acting friend, but rhat aside

and it will never get better "fast enough" because we needed the stuff we're pushing for decades before we were born

Yeah, I'll be dead by the time things actually improve

So it's whatever.
