was in the middle of watching an ep of gray's anatomy when i noticed both cats on high alert

they'd chased a mouse behind a bag of stuff to donate, which was under the tv console table

i lifted the bag, the mouse ran, the cats chased... and then the little shit got away

i even lifted the couch in case it ran under there but alas, the only thing gotten from that is probably my body absolutely hating me tomorrow

i've ordered one of those 5gal bucket lids with a drop hatch whatever in the top to catch mice, because i do not wanna deal with like.. sticky traps or something that will get the cats hurt

kurie was sitting on top of the door rug, staring hard at the edges. when i lifted the rug, there was the mouse she'd squashed under her ass.

kasey apparently trusted her to deal with that, because he was already back to prowling in the kitchen waiting for another to dare show its face
