The only bad part of Yakuza 3 is the combat’s poor balancing and every enemy being able to block literally everything constantly. And even that can sometimes be an interesting more strategic kind of fight with bosses.
This section of this game has done so much to add a lot of nuances to Kiryu’s character and personality. You never see him for such LONG stretches of time just be this. Soft, caring, surprisingly gentle person.
Starting with 0 I had this skewed perspective where Majima was absolutely the better protagonist there and just sorta pushed through 1 and 2. I loved them! Just. Kiryu himself hasn’t fully resonated with me until now.
I think what it is is as Yakuza has risen in popularity and 3-5 have become more accessible, there’s been just enough chowderheads who only like macho invincible badass Kiryu has like. Wormed it’s way into discussions just enough to be noticeable
I’m in chapter 5. Pretty deep into the game at this point so I feel semi qualified to talk on this.
For years I’ve heard complaints about this game.
Leans into the mic
fuck that noise this has been some of my favorite stuff in the entire series
Kiryu has never been cooler than when he “finds” a poorly hidden little girl at hide & seek last so she won’t cry and thinks she did a good job
Me: spends an extra few hours in Okinawa doing various substories for the kids
lmao I still enjoy it more than Kiwami 1’s
the middle one
