one of the moments I think a lot about from Cradle is actually pretty early, when Lindon is getting his Iron Body

A good bit

in Cradle, you have to put your body through strenuous training in order to enhance it. different styles have developed their own ways to gain different Iron Bodies, with different effects.

Lindon is going for one with high regenerative properties and poison resistance (iirc), which involves injecting himself with incredibly painful and toxic poison from a monster scorpion

and he's just completely draining these monster scorpions of their venom right into his body,

and then we switch over to the gods who actually invented and use this style showing them performing the same training,

where they take a needle, dip it in the poison a little, then prick the person undergoing the training,

switch back to Lindon, he's on like his eighth scorpion,

he fucking DIES and his mentor just performs CPR to keep the poison pumping until the Iron Body takes hold,

the funniest shit involving a main character dying

It was just a little cardiac arrest

It's great he is straight up "I think there's a little bit left in me that isn't completely full of poison I would like another scorpion"

Lindon gets a lot of special opportunities to become powerful that no one else gets but no one can deny that he also just puts in the fucking effort

(His main unfair main character advantage is his teacher is an incognito god)
