hey ... i have car buying questions and i know some of you guys had tips

so we’ve got money down at one place, which we were told is refundable. the car doesn’t actually get in til jan so we’re just waiting. another car pops up that would be better, “i have money down elsewhere, can you do better than their offer?” sounds like a good angle to me

but my question is do i have to be honest about the first number LMAO can they check that?? it was not a great offer.

also just ... any tips at all ... we’re going for an ev, either bolt or leaf, would LOVE to get under 30k. can i even hope for lower. probably. i don’t go here

I've never done the pricing against each other, mostly I've just found that if I walk in somewhere and say 'this is my budget, what can we make happen?' they make something happen

it's how I learned to drive stick actually, they could meet all my requirements, including price, but only if I could do manual

So I just learned manual

if you have the original deal in writing, you can pit dealers against each other fairly easily, especially if your credit is good. I got my Corolla about 5k less that way (though I had to settle on a color that wasn't my first choice)
