I don't think they expected to walk out of that club alive, but now that they have, they can spin the narrative and shirk blame off of the angry anti-trans rhetoric thay has been dominating the conversation for the last few years?

It's also the easiest queer label for them to adopt without much commitment. Hear me out:

Being NB is not as... I guess "public" as many other parts of out community. Being gay means they might have had a lover, and it's easy to find evidence for that among their personal effects and internet history. Same with being mtf trans.

But being NB? A lot of the anti-trand conversation has been around the use of pronouns, and a lot of amab NB people don't even change them.

It seems a much more private affair and isn't easily discovered, it seems to me. And now that this has come out, THE ENTIRE conversation is going to change and shift onto our community. That we're all mentally disturbed. That we're dangerous. Mark my words.

I haven't read any testimonials from people whi know them, and nothing from their personal life has yet come out as they look into possible motive. But now, even if they find the right-wing hate in their life I'm sure they're going to find, now it'll be not about thay, but about the shooter's self-loathing.

With one small letter on their legal papers, it's no longer the fault of the people like Matt Walsh and LibsofTikTok.

And I'm not sure I buy it. I know that makes me sound like an asshole, which is why this is anon, but it's very, very convenient and I'm angry.

I'm very worried that this is only going to stoke the calls for trans and queer genocide.
