And Eda got banned from more shapeshifting so she's just a harpy now. she also got a 24hr guard for a few days and Raine and Eda started fake dating to make him uncomfortable
so to answer the question the dynamic is uh. WEIRD
but basically they're bonding as friends again, working through some old issues, and having a lot of awkward romantic tension where they think the other one is over them and/or deserves better
and basically Raine already didn't trust the ADI plus seeing how they treated Eda for using magic (and also getting restrained for trying to help her/explain she wasn't attacking them) put them off even more
it doesn't help that they both also very specifically have trauma over governments saying using magic is bad and dangerous and you know, lying about that
so while using their powers IS inherently fear based and also corruptive here, they're iffy on taking that at face value in-universe especially when it keeps them fairly defenseless
they really don't have the context to guess 'refused to join a coven does too many kinds of magic and general rebel against the state' but,,, she's having fun
