Picking up where I left off with my Batman: The Animated Series watch-through with What Is Reality?
I really wish that this was under better circumstances, but Kevin Conroy is the definitive Batman as far as I'm concerned, so I wanted to do something.
I have no context going into this episode, so I'm not sure if this will be a Riddler episode, a Mad Hatter episode, or a Scarecrow episode. (Maybe Poison Ivy?)
"So this really neat story from a villain's perspective, an absolutely gorgeous Clayface episode, Zatanna's intro, and the episode that literally reshaped an entire fandom for decades."
Haha I think the only ones that I've seen before are Harley And Ivy and The Man Who Killed Batman, so I'm looking forward to seeing what else this has to offer!
Finished the voice actor special feature. I love the image of Mark Hamill in the voice booth, acting along with the Joker's lines, and hearing Kevin Conroy say that it's an honour to play Batman hits a little bit harder today than it would have a week or two ago.
So far, the episode's looking at the question of if Batman's really doing enough or if he should hang up the cowl, which I didn't expect the show to deal with. (Though I probably should have)
Conroy himself was particularly fond of the more human, emotional moments he got with the character, and I'd reckon I Am The Night would probably be an episode he would've been fond of too
Between someone being thrown off of the Statue of Liberty and surviving, and two of the henchmen using gas to "erase their own minds", it's pretty easy to tell that the show was struggling with censors haha
Wasn't expecting Talia al Ghul to show up so soon. (I knew she was introduced before Ra's was, but I didn't think it would be so far in advance) Now I'm under the assumption that the whole episode is a test from Ra's or Talia.
