Time: ~5 on the bike, 10 on the treadmill (incline 3.5, speed 4.5) HR: 150-160 Band: Kreator (Very solid A after some quick research and lyric-checking, I encountered the problem of "I can't tell if this band is very fascist or very anti-fascist" and was unsure until I got off the machine and checked the lyrics)
I got off the bike after I was fed up with my shoelace catching all the time and nearly stormed off. Then I remembered I have my compression wear now so treadmilling isn't a problem anymore.
I haven't heard any rumors of Kreator being fascist so I'm pretty sure that would fall under either antifascist or just being generically edgy without much of a real political message
in general, most of the nazis in metal are gonna be in black metal, though you do get some real assholes elsewhere once in a while cough cough Phil Anselmo Jon Schaffer cough
I'm listening to more of their discography, doing some research on the history of the band, and I'm tentatively putting Kreator above Slayer in my personal rankings.
Dragonforce's vocals and instrumentation are almost impeccable. Slightly lighter than my taste, but a good listen. However, I can't get into them because the lyrics are... mm, all flash, no substance. Dragonforce is about nothing most of the time.
But even the less explicitly political songs of Kreator have a central thesis they're driving toward one way or another, and the energy that brings to the music can be felt.
Band leg presses: 12/12 x3 Lunges (both legs): 12/12 x3 Leg curls: 10/10, 1/10, 0/10 Dumbbell overheads: 10/10 x3 Dumbbell curls: 10/10 x3 Dumbbell rows: 10/10 x3 Dumbbell presses: 10/10 x3 Note: upper arm was with left side only
leg curls were impossible past first set because of exhaustion, and I strained something in my right arm. decided to play it safe and not push it there
Time: 1:30 warmup, 10:00 at speed HR: 160 Band: Sodom. If Slayer is A+ and Kreator S, Sodom ranks at B+. They aren't catering to my exact taste, but it's still damn good metal. Not quite high energy enough to hit my sweet spot. Enjoyed it nonetheless.
