I wonder why AMVs aren't as popular as they were in the past, anyway. Might have something to do with the fact that everyone these days has one or two crafts they work to get good at, instead of dabbling in everything for fun, and how long AMVs take to make nowadays because of higher standards/the fact that most are now made for convention contests.

i always figure it's how hard it is to find clips and such these days with tighter copyright and such, plus, yeah, the higher standards

honestly it's probably just copyright issues

it's a lot easier to get HQ raws than it ever was and editing software is also better quality and more generally available but copyright makes it rly hard to host this stuff

True. I remember so many copyright claims when more people made AMVs, and now that everything is on YouTube instead of on a thousand little websites, it's so much worse.
