seeing Dr. Ray again was... rough

not only because of the brain damage but also because it forced amuro to confront that brilliant scientific mind or not, tem was always a shitty father

amuro and the Gundam becoming fucking monsters in the eyes of Zeon was also satisfying

it was only ten episodes ago that amuro couldn't compete with three doms yet here he is thrashing nine without scratching the Gundam's paint, and the progression feels natural

mirai's development was likewise great. just looking at this guy who she was friends with just a few months ago and realizing that not only has she thoroughly outgrown him but that he was always kind of pathetic. which is a nice through line with Dr. ray too

also damn mirai really is a lesbian huh

once you know what the Dom can do, it's not that scary

yeah. way higher specs than the zaku but also the skill gap between amuro and the average pilot is in Amuro's favor now

the three doms on earth were elites, but who knows how talented these guys were

That skill gap is going to just keep becoming a bigger and bigger problem for Zeon, too.

The bit with Amuro’s dad was brutal

A high-spec machine can't compete with a pilot who knows what he's doing, and Amuro most definitely knows what he's doing.

Amuro wanted his dad to be a sympathizer shoulder to lean on and be like “damn that’s fucked up.”

And Zeon, being an incompetent authoritarian military state, has yet to find a good answer to addressing that problem other then "throw as many of our pilots at the Gundam and hope one of them gets lucky."

meanwhile the Zeon military industrial complex are trying to look busy so they don't get conscripted and sent to the front with a Zaku to try and hold off the GM wave
