last time I visited my family in Texas, in the panhandle, my cousin took me and my extremely opinionated Ralph Nader Liberal mom out to breakfast at a down home diner. Now my cousin is autistic and so he races from topic to topic, but sometimes settles on one he won't let go of, and has difficulty reading social cues. He was bemoaning his lack of a gf, when

he abruptly switched the topic to gun control and the right to protect his home and I did NOT want to get into gun control in Texas at a down home diner, esp not with my mom and it was hard as hell to get him to move onto another topic. Anyway, that scene with the grandma reminded me of that. That trailer looks really good.

Amber : oh yeah, that sounds like an awkward moment. I was feeling too worn last night to go into detail about what I like about the film but it does such a good job of addressing stereotypes and assumptions etc
