I have a Canon printer, and for over the last year, I have discovered my printer keeps switching to an ip that is not connected to my network even though it says it is on my wifi.

I have tried to make it a static ip address, but it refused to acknowledge it. I have tried to make it dynamic, but every so often instead of going to 192.168.0.whatever on my network, it is displaying something 200's for the ip.

Yeah, checked that the printer is updated to the utmost.

Resorted to trying for a direct Lan for now and hoping that works
