I buy (when I can) physical copies of works that aren’t likely to appeal to the lowest common denominator (streaming services), so that I have the option to watch them again whenever I want. This is increasingly difficult as streaming services become content “creators,” however, as they tend not to want anyone to have “forever access.”

I have a fairly large collection of DVDs and a few Blu-rays. In the last few years I’ve bought a bunch of movies and tv series on iTunes because that’s where they’re the cheapest and most available. I hope Apple doesn’t fail in my lifetime!

I plan to buy a DVD player that will play PAL encoded media since most of the items I’m interested in come from the UK.
