[uspol-ish] the Martha's Vineyard situation made me think of the building collapse in Worcester and how 110 people were suddenly made homeless and cut off from their possessions. it happened mid-July, and they're still living in a hotel for the most part

luckily nobody was injured

I think even the pets got out fine. and it was 5 units directly affected out of 32. but the whole building was condemned by the city, so everyone who lived there needs to find a new place to live. which has been difficult

and we're going to get another influx of refugees probably. this time Puerto Ricans in the wake of Fiona. luckily the city with the biggest Puerto Rican population has been preparing for it and has charities all set up and collecting donations and plans for how to house and settle the arrivals
