I am definitely going to grow some beets. Need a garden section of all the stuff I’m the only one who will eat. Asparagus, alliums, beets, turnips, parsnips, rutabagas... Mine!! All mine!! Bwahahaha
I tried making o-dango a while back (I think I lost my notes on best proportions, sadly) and I tried using natural food colours. Beet powder does awesomely, but if you put too much the dango tastes faintly of dirt. Turmeric is Too Much for any tinting level, so something else needs to be used. Matcha, I think; and butterfly pea flower powder.
