Aack! I got so busy today, I forgot to book an appointment to take the family car in for an oil change.

That just means that you’ll have to do it yourself.

Swamp Daddy : I have all the tools to do it myself. But our government has worked hard with environmental nutcases to devise contradicting laws that make it almost impossible to get the used oil to be recycled without costing more than to just let a garage or the dealership do it.

Isn’t it laws like that which encourage illegal dumping?

Swamp Daddy : yes. It’s illegal to dump it. There are only a few places that will take used oil. Seems the places that used to take it can no longer take it. There is an environmental levy (another tax) on the containers you use to bring the oil in. There is a recycle fee charged on oil you buy. I can probably save some money by buying the oil in the US
