Ok last plurk for now. Another foreign food photos. Very popular here is a smoked sausage called rookworst. It is commonly eaten like a hotdog. They even have special buns.

I always found this both quite clever and funny. It’s a complete package sausage and buns!

The most popular ones AFAIK are from the Hema which is the closest thing to Target/Walmart that we have here. Nice store.

One of the things I really enjoyed on the cruise I went on with spouse and mom was getting to try some of the dutch foods.

Going with just my mom in Jan to the Panama Canal, same cruiseline. I'll keep an eye out, or maybe even grab pictures to share.

I don't know if it's a regional thing, but over here it's usually just eaten like that, without the bun. I don't think I've ever seen the hollowed out bun before!

Vin : Hema sells the broodje rookworst (or maybe it was just the hotdogs?) in that kinda bun. I thought that was nationwide. Maybe not? When I eat it at home I do without the bun. I find those buns so clever! ULee might know. He seems to know a lot about Hema.
