the growing bookshelf in our new place https://images.plurk.com/7AufKPqJ2QmHXhQ57xdP5.jpg

disclaimer: no husband has been upset by the weekly package deliveries, as these have all been free LOL
cityscape
free books are best books.
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
though this won't grow too much since the upper stack i'm donating - read them and they're okay, but i won't likely reread. the bottom's still a mix of to read / signed copies i'll def keep / those i actually liked hahaha
cityscape
glad to hear i'm not the only one doing the donating books to others when i've read them and won't reread.
cityscape
my old work place has a whole donating shelf where people can leave the read books for others to enjoy.
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
hoping to eventually have a small stack of my stuff on the living room coffee table, though bro will have to bring some from the PH since i can't order them from amazon/book depository.
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
cityscape i've always lived in a small house so limited space meant i had to choose which ones to keep. a lot of my books also got borrowed and never returned, but i'm fine as long as they get read anyway? rather than collecting dust lmao. i also told my husband at some point that when we get married absolutely no hoarding bc minimalist life means it's
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
so much easier to clean, and he agreed (LOL)
cityscape
hahaha, good you agree on that one.
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
back in the PH the mall a block away from my office had an "outdoor library" where people would leave and take books as they like, so i left most of my books there
cityscape
i'm a bit of a hoarder by nature, admitted, but my gf has a very minimalist style and i try to adapt.
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
the others i left at home bc my parents said they were still going to read them. hahaha
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
the only books i actually hoarded and my parents have no idea what to do... are my star wars books
cityscape
oh god, that must take up some space.
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
cityscape ebooks i have no problem hoarding, i don't need to clean (LOL)
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
i'm lazy and cleaning isn't my fave chore, so i'd rather keep things sparse and minimal hahaha i started with my wardrobe then just trimmed down... mostly everything
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
since moving to the UK i only have 3 pairs of shoes + 1 pair of slippers for indoor/beach/etc
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
cityscape it's a whole shelf in my old bedroom (LOL) but i told them to hold off doing anything with it for now. not because i'm particularly sentimental, but i didn't have time to go through the stack before i had to leave the country, and i know i want to keep some, donate some, then maybe idk sell the rest on ebay hahaha
cityscape
some of it must be pretty valuable at this point?
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
cityscape yeah, bc they're the old EU books, not the disney canon ones. some of us in the fandom are still salty with the non-canonization soooo hahaha
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
i'll figure out when i go home next, it'll be a few years yet
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
or until my mom complains there's no more space, which she'd gotten a mostly whole room in exchange so it shouldn't be too much of an issue hahaha
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
(it's probably our gig costumes that need to be disposed at some point, since with everyone away - me here, bro at the capital, one of the princesses leaving for the US - it's not been a thing anymore)
ᴋᴀᴢɪᴇ
cityscape i don't have poetry books but i would be willing to mail you any that you might be interested in, we're close enough for postage not to be that crazy i think?
cityscape
oh my god, that's so nice of you to suggest! denmark has some pretty steep postal fees these days, fair warning.
cityscape
we privatized our postal sector and that cost a lot, but if you find anything interesting you think i should have, let me know and we'll figure it out?

It’s a lovely little shelf!
I still have a small box with some of our book to ship you if you want it, with a couple of those other things
